Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Download the BetterKids app from the App Store or Google Play, open it, and tap "Sign Up". You'll need to provide a parent/guardian email address to create an account.
Is BetterKids safe for my child?
Yes! BetterKids is designed specifically for children with COPPA compliance. We do not collect unnecessary personal information, do not serve behavioral ads, and all content is age-appropriate. Parents have full control over their child's account and data.
What ages is BetterKids appropriate for?
BetterKids is designed for children ages 3-12. Our content adapts to your child's age range to provide age-appropriate learning materials.
Subscription & Billing
How much does BetterKids cost?
BetterKids offers two premium subscription options:
- Monthly: $9.99 per month
- Annual: $99.99 per year (save approximately 17%)
How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS (Apple App Store):
- Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Select BetterKids
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
Android (Google Play):
- Open Google Play Store
- Tap Menu → Subscriptions
- Select BetterKids
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
When will I be charged?
Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You'll be charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Can I get a refund?
All purchases are final and we do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods. If you cancel, you'll retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. For refund requests under Apple's or Google's terms, please contact them directly through their support channels.
Do you offer a free trial?
Free trial availability varies. If a trial is offered, you'll see it when subscribing. You can cancel anytime during the trial to avoid being charged.
Account Management
How do I reset my password?
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password". Enter your email address and we'll send you a password reset link.
How do I update my email address?
Go to Settings → Account → Email Address. You'll need to verify the new email address.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
Can I use BetterKids on multiple devices?
Yes! Your subscription works across all your devices. Simply log in with the same account on each device.
Features & Functionality
What features are included in the premium subscription?

How does the school update feature work?
Parents and teachers can upload photos and videos of children's activities. Our AI generates educational descriptions and learning insights from these updates.
What languages are supported?
BetterKids currently supports English and Vietnamese. You can switch languages in Settings → Language.
Does BetterKids work offline?
Some features require an internet connection, especially AI-powered content generation and video recommendations. However, previously loaded content may be accessible offline.
Privacy & Safety
What data do you collect?
We only collect information necessary to provide our educational service. This includes parent email, child's age range (not exact birthdate), and user-uploaded content. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
Do you share data with third parties?
We use OpenAI for content generation and YouTube for educational videos. We do NOT sell or share your child's information with advertisers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How can I review or delete my child's data?
You can review all data in Settings → Privacy → View My Data. To delete data, go to Settings → Privacy → Delete My Data, or contact us at privacy@betterkid.app.
Is the content age-appropriate?
Yes, all content is curated and AI-generated specifically for children. We filter YouTube recommendations to ensure only educational, child-safe content is shown.
Technical Issues
The app won't load or crashes
Try these steps:
- Force quit the app and reopen it
- Check your internet connection
- Update to the latest version of BetterKids
- Restart your device
- If issues persist, contact support with your device model and OS version
I can't upload photos or videos
Make sure you've granted camera and photo library permissions to BetterKids in your device Settings. On iOS: Settings → BetterKids → Photos. On Android: Settings → Apps → BetterKids → Permissions.
Videos won't play
Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Video playback requires active internet. If problems persist, try closing and reopening the app.
My purchase isn't working
Try these steps:
- Log out and log back in
- Check that your payment method is valid in the App Store/Play Store
- Restore purchases: Settings → Restore Purchases
- If still having issues, contact us at support@betterkid.app with your order receipt
What devices are supported?
- iOS: iPhone and iPad running iOS 13.0 or later
- Android: Devices running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later
Affiliate Program
How do I become an affiliate?
Visit our affiliate dashboard to sign up. You'll receive a unique referral code to share with others.
How much commission do affiliates earn?
Affiliates earn 30% commission on all subscriptions from their referrals for the lifetime of the subscription.
How do I track my referrals?
Log in to the affiliate dashboard to see your referral statistics, conversion rates, and commission earnings.
